Popular plans in Maryland
United Health Care is great at the $3800 HSA level as well as the Copay plans. But, by far and away the CareFirst plans are our biggest sellers. The BlueChoice and BluePreferred HSA $1200 deductible plans our most popular this year. That may seem like a high deductible to you, but if you compare to other available plans there is nothing else close when you look at cost and benefits. The prescription plan is very rich and if you add $100/month to an HSA account (which is tax deductible) you're still at a lower cost relative to other plans with lower deductibles and by doing so you've essentially created a zero deductible plan (read blog - click here). Also the BlueChoice Saver is a very popular, but stripped down plan so be careful as brand name drugs aren't covered.
Group plans in Maryland
Unless your company is over 10 employees or you have pre-existing conditions that would preclude you from getting individual coverage, we'd likely recommend you do indiviudal plans over group plans. Group plans have no underwriting (meaning you can't be turned down), but you pay twice as much for that priviledge. InsurancePickle.com is unique in that we offer both group and individual plans in Maryland (most of our competition does one or the other), so we can help you decide which is best route to travel.
High-Risk plans in Maryland
If you have been a resident in the state for at least six months and have been declined health insurance you may automatically qualify for the Maryland Health Insurance Plan or MHIP. InsurancePickle.com can help you get that plan. Also, if you've been turned down by CareFirst, for example, it is still possible another company, like Aetna, may take you. Again, we'll help you figure it out.
Why buy through InsurancePickle.com?
We know you want the "best" price, so please understand that you cannot find cheaper rates anywhere. Insurance is a regulated industry so all sources sell at the same price. Your application is always processed direct at the carrier. Finally, you'll deal direct with the owner of the company, Jeff Motsco, who has more than 16 years experience and he'll act as your advocate and make the entire process much easier for you. Learn more about Jeff in our "About Us" section.
